Here at the Odd Co socks are kind of our thing and we aren’t ashamed to say we love them more than most. But whether you’re an avid runner trying to beat your best time or just someone that likes to be as healthy as possible there are a lot of benefits to just kicking off your shoes and socks and going barefoot once in a while.
Of course the main benefit to wearing shoes and socks (despite the looking awesome) is that they protect your feet but this doesn’t mean you should be wearing them all the time. Shoes and socks are a relatively new addition to our wardrobes when you think that our feet have evolved over millions of years. Going barefoot from time to time allows your feet to assume their natural position and of course gives your feet a little time out of the humid enviroment of shoes and socks.
For those of you out there that are into a more holistic way of life you might have heard of something called grounding. There’s an increasing amount of evidence that walking barefoot outside gives you a direct connection with the earth and ca have a healing effect on the body.
